Poring vs. Pouring Whats the Difference - The Writers For Hire
ââ¬Å"PORINGâ⬠ VS. ââ¬Å"POURINGâ⬠: WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?    This inquiry came up during a series of in-house altering this week, so â⬠obviously ââ¬I needed to share:    Complete this sentence:â  I went through hours à _______ over the pages of the magazine.    A.)â â  poring    B.)â â  pouring    The right answer is A, ââ¬Å"poring.â⬠    ââ¬Å"Poreâ⬠ intends to study or read something with incredible care.â  Youââ¬â¢d pore over a course book or a site; you could even pore over the subtleties of a particularly intriguing dream you had the prior night.    ââ¬Å"Pourâ⬠ then again, is something you do with a liquid.â  Itââ¬â¢s the word for what you do with, say, a container of water or a pot of espresso.    Along these lines, you may say:â  ââ¬Å"I presented myself with some espresso and pored through the newspaperââ¬â¢s horoscope segment, seeking after uplifting news and fortunate lotto numbers.â⬠    All things considered, you probably won't state that, exactly.â  But you get the thought.
